Thoughts of the character
If I could talk to any single person,
Perhaps then the constant need to escape myself would flee.
To feel the embrace and love of another which would quench my need for another soul,
To understand.
I realize however that no such thing exists upon this earth.
Even when you believe it is so,
Pure truth is a fantasy.
The person will guard their heart, and when the time comes,
The fantasy will shatter as if it were made of glass etching.
Even if the person would come my way, I fear I would be so blind to
not notice.
In my ill contempt and set state of mind,
I would find their disposition unsincere.
Therefore pushing them away as I do all.
I will not be taken for a fool, not again,
So I am doomed to a life of eternal solitude and chronic lonliness.
The sadened heart by horrors so drastic a young child should not have been exposed to. Nevertheless, I lock my issues away, as to move on with my life,
All the while, the steel box weighing heavily on my heart.
Making me, incapable of the thing which is named love.
