Thoughts On Dreams

We're so young,

In a world so old.

We think we know what we want,

And what we need.

We form dreams,

And run after them.

However,

Sometimes while we're running,

And chasing after our dreams;

We miss something better.

Our selfish desires blind us,

Leading to disappointment

And heart break.

While we're struggling

To figure out where we went wrong,

We think back to the opportunities we've passed up.

Maybe if we would've been less stubborn,

Maybe if we would've listened.

Maybe we'd have what we truly wanted,

Maybe we'd have what we actually needed.

You only get to live once,

So don't waste it.

Don't ruin it by being ignorant and blind,

Rejecting the opportunities that God's given you.

He's prepared you a life,

One perfectly tailored to your needs.

And I believe the life he has planned,

Will surpass the expectations we create.
