Thoughts I Never Think

Love yourself. Be positive.

Words that I commonly use

Mostly to others, at times to myself.

Out of kindness and generosity, these words are said.

But is it?

Are these words spoken to please others,

Or because we would rather hear it from someone else’s lips?

Whether positive or negative,

Showing one side then the next.

Determining, adapting to these faces is most difficult.

An array of emotions,

Given and taken continuously.

Sometimes clear then confusing,

Not only affecting the person

But also others around him or her.

Must the road that we take be so crooked and foggy?

Or can honesty help us all?

If I am honest about your hair, would I offend you?

If I am honest about this assignment, would that affect my grade?

If I am honest about my feelings, would it help others or harm them?

If I am honest about life, how would it affect what I do?

Am I even honest to myself about how I feel or what I say or think?

Or do I lie to myself to not hurt others or to avoid the obvious?

If that is true, is everything I said a lie?
