Thoughts on Love
Love... What is love?
Love is... Love is whenever
There's that certain someone,
That no matter what you're doing,
Something will always remind you of them,
And they'll be all you can think about.
Love is when every special characteristic,
That makes that person who they are,
Catches your eye when you see them.
Something always stands out about them,
And you want to do whatever you can
To make them the happiest person alive.
Love is smiling when they're happy
And helping them whenever they're not.
Hugging them tightly as you feel their sorrow
And wishing you could take it all away.
And you put all of your trust in them
To never leave if you are to ever fall.
Love is feeling that pain in your chest
When you can't be next to them,
And you just want to cry out
"I want to help you so much
and always be there for you!"
But you can't, and tears fill your eyes.
Love is wanting to follow them
To the ends of the Earth and back
Just to continue seeing their smile
And hearing their wonderful laugh.
Follow and watch that person bloom
Into the beautiful person they are.
Love is not chasing after them,
But rather, waiting for that person,
Because you don't want to push them away,
And you sit and watch in silence
As they continue to bloom, and soon,
They will be gone from your sight.
Love is smiling, despite all the pain,
Despite all the tears that you've cried,
Because they're going on with their life,
To be happy and live their life
How they were meant to live it.
Smiling because you know that they're happy.
Love is letting go of it all,
Letting go of all that you had,
Letting go of your past with her,
Because the more you try to cling,
Breaking inside because your mind
Bears all the wonderful memories of her.
Love is when you smile and laugh,
When you're happy that the one you would
Give up everything, even your life for,
Has made it so far in their life
And you feel that light in your heart
Fill your entire being with...
