Thoughts of Ours

Without the filters,

We are really all the same,

Do we not all mock our very lives,

Do we not give ourselves the blame?

Do we not all promise to go to bed at a decent time,

And lie to ourselves once more,

Because we haven’t found a reason worth waking up for.

Isn’t it oh so human,

To occasionally feel alone,

And isn’t the lesson we all learned last night,

That we should have just stayed home.

And we all know the feeling when the power goes out,

Or when you have no service,

You’re forced to look at yourself,

And you swear all your systems are nervous.

And when we look in the mirror,

We really have nothing to fear,

Except for the fact it's been one of those days,

For the last 19 years.
