Thoughts From the Victim

Wearing a coat of black to hide my form Hoping not to stand out Head bent down to avoid the storm Never taking the same route I see the posters everywhere But they never make a change "Only you can stop it!" they say But any real action is strange Confused inside as to why I'm the victim I am approached again This action their addiction From which they can not abstain The damage is dealt on the innermost part They manage to shatter my mind and my heart The dread never leaves me So I'm never alone But there's is always a knife and a bottle at home No corner exists in which I can hide But they do have a schedule By which to abide I never thought that my tears could run dry But I'm certain they will when I drown in their tide No feeling is safe They all keep me trapped They have tactics that hurt worse Than being slapped Or beaten Or sliced open wide But that's for me to do on my own time The thoughts in my head Push me over the line They've finally found a way To make me say goodbye.
