Thoughts of a Yearning Mind

So, I get on my knees to make sure that HE knows that I am grateful for what HE has given me, Trying to better myself, and the ones who have raised me. I hear success takes time, but I'm not sure how much more I got, People saying slow down, but I’m trying to take off early like Michael Jordan from the free-throw spot. I’ve always been told to never be the one to follow and always be the one to lead, That is why each and every day I'm all about what’s mines and always doing me. Obstacles may appear, But as long as I have FAITH, my vision will always be clear. Trying to open doors for my younger cousins, nieces, and nephews, Because the things that they are witnessing aren’t exactly the best views. The thing about LIFE is, it can be gone in a minute, Therefore, I am trying to leave an impact on mines, and those who are in it. I am trying to stay determined, Nevertheless, it always seems like I have a monkey on my back stopping me from getting my higher learning. So sometimes, it may seem that I am only going through the motions, Instead of driving all the way, I am steady coasting. To always get me back on track, I always think about my “Granny”, Because her words of wisdom, never failed to come in handy. I think of her telling me "son you can do it all as long as you believe", So whenever I picture her smile, the word that appears is...ACHIEVE!! I am just a young man determined to lead and willing to learn, I don’t know why but there's just something about progression that makes me yearn!!
