Thoughts of You

Leaves of green are rustling in the wind

But I sit inside and must rescind

Everything I felt for you

Was it necessary to betray me

I see now that I never will be

The one who has your love

I was told you took her to our bed

The very day we were to be wed

I guess I know now where you were

You left me standing at the altar

A smile from you almost made me falter

But I will stand strong in my decision

I know that it's time for me to leave you

I now know that you just can't be true

Goodbye my former friend
