Three

Times seemed so easy

Long ago

When we were young and didn’t know

We’d grow up to be someone else

Maybe full of power

Have some wealth

Or live on the streets in poverty

We didn’t know this when we were three

We knew sand boxes

Castles

Kings

Dr. Seuss

Not liberty

We’d grow up to be someone else

We just dint know

What to think of ourselves

When a dollar was a prize procession

And family was key

Our lives were so laid back

When we were three

The pools no longer an ocean

A box a spaceship

There are no longer monsters under the bed

But big dreams do lay ahead
