Three and A Half Minutes

There's something about it.

I don't know if it's the beat

that pumps my heart

or the lyrics

that read my thoughts.

It begins.

the instant nostalgia

that covers my eyes like curtains

to paint the picture of reminisce

I close my eyes and feel the wind dancing with my hair

the warm, bright hug im embraced in

colors so warm and blinding.

As the sweet, deep melodies blare from the system

subwoofers vibrating

I drive on the unknown road to an unknown place

The penny tells me where to go.

I endure the libretto

soaking through my subcuetaneous

as the rhythm hijacks my limbic

and the bass converses with my soul

Next song.

the feeling is no longer joyful

but remorseful.

My own escape trapped in my mind only to be unlocked

by the sound of music

What about the creation

that no matter it be true or reimagined

I get a sense of freedom

Love,

Happiness,

even Woebegone

a road trip to my favorite undiscovered place

limbs intertwined with the wind

It ends.

I am returned

to the reality that I have to lug around

everyday

bunkum and balderdash

programmed into my cerebrum

The manual on how IT is

"supposed to be"

Three and a half minutes of tranquility

Three and a half minutes to transport

to see ahead

A possible vision of the future that triggers

all too much of the past

The beauty in songs so recent

that it makes me feel child-like

I hang on the innovation with a tight grip

hoping it will seep into my burning skin like aloe

soothing

taking the pain away

helping to heal the damage

Another playlist begins.

The journey continues.
