Three siblings gruff

There once lived three siblings who saw life three ways

The eldest, being full of love saw life as something to share

living like time was a gift to be cherished

When her time came to leave the safety of home she found only the opposite

she found life was full of hate and turmoil

and people in it were happy to waste the life of others

soon her heart of gold had turned to ash never to be kindled again

The second full of courage saw life as a challenge

living as if everything had to be conquered

This one did not wait for time, she left much too early for her own good

She found that life was not as cut and dry as she once believed

when someone tried to show her love she took all they had and claimed it

never knowing the feeling of giving love her heart soon turned to rust

for the smallest infliction could easily break her unourished heart

The youngest of the three was full of fear

seeing life as a game in which he was forced to play

This one tried to hang on to the remnants of the past

but when his time came to leave the safety of home he was blinded

blinded by the variety that life had to offer

He found that life was not a burden to carry

Nor a blessing and most definitely not a war

but instead found the shred of himself that everyone looks for

the part that lives not because of the memories of the  past or the promises of the future

but instead the part that lives for the present and was open to all life had to offer

this siblings heart was still intact but not yet aflame

for he still searches for the one to light a spark that shall turn his love into an inferno to last for years to come
