Three Woolen Brothers

Three brothers stand sad with their necks heavily clad. Though there is no chill outside, behind scarves abashed they hide. The youngest brother little Jimmy is kind of small & rather skinny. His scarf hides him from fear & rejection, but leaves him with no direction. Chester hides even more, underneath are cancerous sores. Being in the middle he tried not to become the center, he wraps the scarf round and round, never will he get to that accepting vector. The third stands solemn; what he covers is unlike the others. He is the oldest & must be strong for his two young brothers. So Gabe stays solid and takes the abuse, he sits quietly & lets his father tighten the noose. Behind that piece of fabric the bruises and contusions lay. Whether they still sting, no one can say. So the three brothers stand with their scarves of cashmere and wool. They feel secure though they can be unraveled with just one string pull. It’s really quite a shame that this is how they stay. The sun shines brightly outside, where birds chirp and play. Wrapped so tightly around their necks they shall surely choke. The three brothers stand in line, for them to sweat, one can only hope.
