Three Words

Three words,

I love you.

Eight letters,

I love you.

Say it and I am yours,

I love you.

These words can only go so         far

but actions keep relationships on par.

I was tired of dating the words on my phone

or trusting his emotions through the use of emoticons.

Feelings come and go like the wind,

but commitment is more eternal.

I wanted more

I deserved more

I found more

He communicates spoken words through his physical lips

and portrays emotion through the reactions of his presence.

He says those three words not out of habit

and stands firm in them like unconditional static.

We pride ourselves in transparency

and in his arms is where I want to be.

Love is a choice,

and my heart chooses you.
