Through Different Eyes

Sometimes I wonder

If you see the world

The way I do.

Do you see it with the same brightness,

The same clarity,

The same perspective?

I think that through your eyes

I could find what you see in me

That you hate so much.

That makes you scream at me,

Makes me cry.

But right now, through my eyes,

I can't see

Any reason for you to treat me that way.

I'm leaving you

Is that clear?

In the blink of an eye.

You won't see me anymore.

And you'll wish that you would have acted better,

Talked softer,

Loved stronger,

Understood me,

Stayed with me longer.

Looked,

Through different eyes.
