Through His Eyes
Careless whispers through the night,
To my beloved who can't sleep.
We sit atop the roof , covered in the blanket of the sky,
I hold her in my arms and kiss her softly as if to say,
"Baby, our love will never die."
And just for that night,
Just for that moment,
I believe it.
But months pass and that night on the roof in the blanket of the sky starts to fade,
Those careless whispers proclaiming our love to the world turn into shouts of anger and following her out the door screaming, "Baby I didn't mean it!"
They become sleepless nights in a lonely bed wondering, "Where did we go wrong?"
That "Baby our love will never die," transforms into our last and final goodbye.
