Through My Eyes

Dear Momma Bear,

Let me start by saying, you are beyond compare.

When all the world came crashing down,

You never let me drown.

You shout and you nag,

However, life is never a drag.

With you in my life there is always a lighting shining,

From day to night you never stop trying.

Words cannot express how much you mean to me,

I only wish you could see through me.

If you stepped into my shoes

You would never feel blue.

If you looked at yourself through my eyes you would see beauty, confidence, strength, Selflessness, resilience, and, put simply, utter perfection.

With you as my guide I know I am always heading in the right direction.

We fight, we yell, we cry

But that never takes away from our loving lives.

Look through my eyes and see what true beauty is.

It is not always on the outside, it is on the inside too.

You have strength beyond limits,

Your stamina always makes it to the finish.

You give and you give expecting nothing in return,

However, you deserve endless love that is most superb.

Sometimes you may feel that we aren’t grateful,

But we are eternally thankful.

Look through my eyes and you will see utter perfection.

I look in the mirror and I hope to see you as my reflection.

The word thank you doesn’t suffice,

I think I owe you my life.

You’re my best friend, my rock, the reason for my smile.

You encapsulate everything I strive to be,

I hope that someday you will see.

You are my everything.

The world doesn’t get it, and little did I know, when I look for my hero,

you were right there beside me, holding my hand.
