Through a Raven’s Eye

I listen to the beat of a raven’s heart

And heard a boy in mid-flight, his life suddenly cut short.

I peered into the depth of a raven’s soul

And saw a warm beating heart of its prime stopped cold.

I peered into the depth of a raven’s soul

And saw a young life whose wings once spread, now deceased, in Death’s grip fold.

I looked into the darkness of a raven’s eye

And saw my own flesh being eaten by worms, my own corpse being swarmed by flies.

I looked into the darkness of a raven’s eye

And felt the deathly chill of my own demise.

I looked into the darkness of a raven's eye

And saw my spirit reincarnated with wings towards heaven rise.
