Through Thy Eyes

From his lips came a black procession of curious Oath

He imagined them shaking in black rage

He could see sheets of orange light illumine the shadowy distance

He could see the forms of men through black shadows in the red light

The debate drained him of his fire

The red sun pasted in the sky

Blue haze of evening was upon the field

The trees began softly to sing a hymn of twilight

The luster faded from his eyes

He moved with mysterious purpose

A lover’s thirst scrutinizing each detail of the scene

Thoughtless, headstrong, jealous and he was filled with a tinsel courage.
