Through The Valley

David walked through the valley of the shadow of death.

Today we walk through this same place.

Smell the ash in the air; take a deep breath .

Swirls of smoke gently whirl against my face.

It is a transient ghost, a reminder of what was;

there is only a trace.

“Sin” equals depression, and ignorance is oppression;

this is the state so many of us live in.

We are told we are wrong because of the mindset we are stuck with.

In a dream, I make a change,

I wipe the ash away.

Black streaks on young cheeks,

and so many young ones were lost in this place.

In this valley of the shadow of death, here I am.

But I fight for life, for sanity, for wellness and

In this dream, I fight for them,

for the ones who lost the battle that was bursting inside of them.

No one can block me, and nothing could stop me.

In my dream, I fight a war no one has dared to try to win.

When I win, I will finally be free.

Life ever altered, but it is not only for me.
