Through Your Eyes

In fear of losing control,

Down this spiral I've fallen.

A familiar dread of pending discomfort and doom.

The doctors prescribed an elixir of pills.

Then they sent me to bed,

Without any bread.

I lay in the poppy field numb to my surroundings.

But, oh!

There was you.

You reached out your arms,

And breathed light in my darkness.

My anxieties fleeting,

My demons at bay.

When you saw me for me,

I became brave.
