Thumbelina's Plan
I am merely the size of a thumb
But do not acquaint my intelligence to my size
For I am not dumb
Indeed I have developed a plan quite wise
To escape the woman who calls herself “mum”
For years she has stuck to such a claim
that I have forever been her child
But she is not to blame
For loss of the memory is never mild
Swift, gone as quick as it once came
Yet even a mother cannot resist
giving her princess to a prince
And once she has seen us kissed
She will surely be convinced
So much so I may not even be missed
