Thump, Thump

The young boy stood on the shoreline Staring out over the endless ocean The water was a dark color Due to the time of night. The only light illuminated from the Big, bright moon That hung over this moment like a large spotlight In a huge auditorium. The boy’s thoughts raced along, Sometimes distracted by the crashing of the waves That were as loud as beating drum. Or, maybe that was just his heart beat? Thump, thump Thump, thump.
