Thunder
Thunder Victoria Gloria
Have you ever noticed how thunder is so loud
Forecast said it would ease to a drizzle in a few minutes
Gimme some time, it’ll be okay
even then I would still be able to hear the whispers
of the searing
hot
rain on my ears
I know, I’m sorry sweety, lemme handle it
A week later, all sunshine and rainbows
No more thunder, finally some blue skies… I could go
to the beach and hang with friends
What did I tell you, everything. is. fine.
But since I had chosen to stay here and it was still winter,
I knew I needed to buy a rain jacket,
but I was so
busy
Why did I choose to stay.
I was busy but,
I knew I should’ve bought a rain jacket
or called someone, so that they could help
and then he hit her, and the mark of his hand
on my mama’s face still burns red
everytime I look at her, as she looked at me
“Nobody does what I f*cking want them to do”
