Thunder Storm

Water ripples
as the raindrops
drop down like bullets
pelting us with no mercy.
The rumble of the thunder
in the distance,
shakes like an earthquake.
The crackling of the lightning
hits home and
sparks a ruby red fire.
It spreads faster
than my eyes could see.

The light in your eyes
looks at me.
Your lips partially open
before the fire
turns you to ashes.
I can't speak,
or move.

I'm pulled off my feet
to saftey.
I'm frozen with shock.
I dread every moment
that I am not with you.

I hear the rumble
of the thunder
in the distance.
It reminds me of
the light in your eyes
before you were gone.
