Thunder Storms

It’s amazing what can bring you back to your childhood,

Whether it’s a video game or the next generation revisiting your favorite past times

Chuck E. Cheese, that is.

Like a flash of lightning,

I flash back.

Like the loud clap of thunder,

I erupt with laughter.

A smile on my face that can outshine all the bolts In the sky…

What triggers this flashback?

You got it, the thunderstorm

Takes me waaay back

To the sandbox days, when you were always there for me.

As the lightning struck, the trees shook, and the windows rattled. I lay awake, alone and afraid.

The Sky lit up and so did my light bulb- Seek refuge, a bastion…

And I did… In your room

Your blue room seemed to make the storm dissipate

A war zone in the day, was my safe place on a stormy night,

You were always there to stop the lightning, the trees, and the windows

And start my peaceful sleep.
