Thyself vs. Self

Our body, still like an ikea curtain

Falling, draping us in a silhouette of a trend

In eras of do’s and don’ts of our candy-land world

Smuthering self with a heavy cast.

Thyself, a shell

A posterior outer force that occasionally, does damage to self.

Self is who we are protecting from being attacked.  The mind rationalizes ways to protect self, the body acts out scenes to distract the other bad ‘selfs’

an armoury of love, truth, loving kindness, stillness and good.

The hurt in our hearts for walking around dead for so long.  The hurt in our heart for walking around pretending to be thyself.

Like Dorothy, we are just trying to get back home but, sad to say found ourselves down a steep yellow brick road.
