TICK TOCK

an emptiness in between

the fear of life,

the love of death

the absence -

tucked away in the corner

of my lung.

to think

is to become

so my mind remains

blank

as my fingers tremble -

still gripping the wrist

cold

as an iced heart.

when I call your

name

my lips turn

blue

as I call for

help

my arms go

limp.

time is trapped

in a glass jar

and the ticks and tocks

echo off the walls -

emptiness. this

emptiness tastes bitter;

I had stolen your last breath

when I said "I love you"
