Tick Tock Goes the Clock

The human mind is a wonderful thing. Each created in its own image, fighting many battles within itself. I often listen to mine. Hearing the thoughts it processes, feeling the emotions it creates deep within my being. As a clock ticks, my mind registers every sound, every movement, but slowly, I become transfixed. I speak but no one listens. Tick Tock goes the clock. A whooshing emotion comes over me. Tick Tock goes the clock. Heads are turned away and eyes roam the room, never meeting my face. Tick Tock goes the clock. Suddenly, my mind begins to stop. Tick Tock goes the clock. Mouth shut, attention diverted. Tick Tock goes the clock and I finally realize that no one is watching, no one notices me. I become the clock, rotating around a fixed point, never able to be in the center. Tick Tock goes the clock and I am once again unbeknown to those around me, an imaginary human, standing in the corner of a room. Tick Tock goes the clock.
