Ticking
Tick, tick, tick,
Tock, tock, tock,
the way in which my brain,
gives way to thought, thought, thought.
One notion to another,
associations then connect,
it brings about my fears,
my imagination and my regrets,
What at you said to me,
what I said to you,
That day we took the bike,
and spotted dolphins in the blue,
The blue of his eyes,
versus the brown of yours,
Contemplating comparisons,
your love makes me secure,
Security, the feeling,
Of the knife in my purse,
I've never had to use it,
but there tends to always be a first,
The first time I've had to stop,
since I've been driving this whole time,
oh the roadside flowers,
bring about a whole new rhyme,
Tick, tick, tick,
Tock, tock, tock,
the way in which my brain,
gives way to thought, thought, thought.
