Ticktock
I remember when I was a child
And everything was clear
Where the world did not suffer of fear
And everyone was mild
Ticktock ticktock
However, I’m older now
And fear the opinions of those around,
Afraid to be put in the ground
Used and abused like a milk cow
Ticktock ticktock
Life seems like a mystery
But do we think about its cousin death?
Or taking our last breath?
Or the mourning of a family in misery?
Ticktock ticktock
Do we live in fear of dying?
Every moment ticking our life clock
Being overworked like livestock
It’s all so dissatisfying
Ticktock ticktock
I’m learning to live everyday
As death slowly creeps on me
But I will overcome
Become less fearsome
And the outcome?
Ticktock ticktock
I will stray away
From the fear of death
Take another breath
Listening to my own life clock
Ticktock ticktock
