Tidal Hum

Birds sing in chorus as the night fades away,

Drawn to the window I peer out across the bay,

Warmth falls on my skin as the sun has awoken,

Sea creatures frolic where the surf has just broken,

Greeted by the salt scent in the morning air,

Outside I sit perched on my timber deck chair,

The glittering ocean leaves me entranced,

In an endless performance the shore and waves dance,

Thankful and delighted to have an opportunity like this,

To appreciate the wonder of the oceanic abyss,

Gratitude and happiness start to overwhelm me,

Listening to the tidal hum; the ancient song of the sea.
