Tidal Surge

Demons around corners Assassins in vents Terrorists on desks No place is safe For one of different taste No place is protected For one of different faith Cast out as a freak A fluke of Nature An accident of “God” Thrown into tides of hate Ebbing and flowing With no stopgate Rocks pierce as Waves wash over them Stabbing daggers in my back No longer a comforting spot Turned traitor to my back Stained black with fear

Juxaposition is a modernist technique that brings together elements that usually do not stand together. You could have, in this piece, alluded to literature and stories to (for example: the recent tsunamis) to represent the "tidal surge". In your work there is the personal "[c]ast out as a freak/A fluke of nature" and the naturalistic "rocks pierce as/ waves wash over them". Q.V.
