A Tide of Words

A Tide of Words

Whispers that flow

As if to the sea

In streams of the people

The people once me

The anchors of all

Our gossip held dear

The last hope to fall

And first pain to hear

A once buried treasure

Now open to view

No secret stays secret

With so many I held true

Almost a currency

An exchange of lies

With more and more fluency

Yet no one dies
