Tides

He is the ocean, she is the moon

The deep green wake parting only for her

White capped waves kissed by her unwavering light

Transforming under her silver touch

to a deep, rippling blue

Then stilling to a polished gray,

better to reflect her incandescent beauty

back up to the heavens

Swayed gently in a celestial dance,

and wrapped in velvet darkness,

he is pulled towards the moon

in eternal awe

He is the ocean, and she is the moon

And I am the albatross

that skims the crescent waves,

wishing that I could glide through the depths of the ocean

as I soar through the sky
