Tides of a daydream

Under the dusky hue of winter's evening

I sit under the glow from a fading lamp

In the haunting peace of the silence

A whirring zephyr, imbued with reverie

Finds its way inside

The beauty of it all makes time stop

And as the drizzling rain floats in space

How can I not think of you?

In the dearth that you've left behind

I am gulfed with the desire to weave words

That could resonate with the thrum of my heart

While it beats to cherish the melody

From the strings you so effortlessly strum

With the dainty hands, that grasp my soul

And when your image calms the squall in my head

I feel the angels exalt at your face

And I promise you that

They have flung themselves down

In the hallowed voids of envy

As thoughts of You allude me

I look upon the mural of my Self

The yellow shades of your life

Have seeped into the blues of mine

And I deem myself to be

An epiphany in this Starry Night

And when the droplets kiss the ground

I think of you as the sea

And I am but a seashell

Washed ashore from your infinity

Though I seep into the clutches of the sand

I clutch your memory tight

For it is the pearl I guard within
