The Tides of Fear

Every second I am drowning

Drowning in the harsh tides of fear

It slowly covers my face

I struggle to catch my breath

As the waves engulf me

The ocean whispers to me

Reminding me that I am nothing

It allows me to hide in its blanketed waves

Comforting me from myself

But the longer I drift away

The more scared I am

Of what lies beyond this salted water

I can’t let the waves sweep me away

Not yet...

I resist the water that drags me down

I fight the waves and swim to shore

The tides try to pull me back

But I don’t give up

Because if I did

I could never leave these ocean blue sheets
