Tightrope Walker

hit me let me feel your 16 years worth of pent up anger hurt rage at being imprisoned by your leftover feeling for past lovers gnawing at the bones of who you were go ahead I can take it whatever you've got, I can handle it let me stand in your hurricane your destructive forces can wash over and maybe I won't survive maybe it'll hurt but I'm not afraid of you and don't worry about damaging me I'm 14 years old with the teenage mentality of being indestructible go for it hit me you've done it often enough, shouldn't even phase you bruises on my arms that I have to hide and trust me they're not all self inflicted the anger of both of us painted onto my skin in dark purples and blues you told me I was beautiful told me you loved me my magician, creating illusions of trust and safety but the net was shredded and suddenly I'm not so interested in standing on the highwire I could have told you stop could have told you not touch me but the sick part of me? liked it the adrenaline rush of being in danger in not knowing if I was living more than dying I told myself I wasn't afraid of you the sane part of me knew love wasn't like this wasn't punches and yelling but I still thought I loved you you played it like a game the seasons change and so do my reasons I can't seem to leave you the circus is easy to run away to but not from and your never ending anger is starting to scare me nothing I do is right in your eyes and I'm not an acrobat I can't jump through hoops for your approval and I'm starting to realize this is not not normal can't go home every day with more bruises marking my skin like memories of how things started out I won't be your whipping boy because I don't love you anymore and now I know you never did and I am not scared of you so get off me and don't you dare touch me again because I will fight back.
