Till Death Do Us Part
Dedicated to Jacob M.

Down by the river
Where no one saw
There sat a boy
Who loved to draw
Drawn with silver
Painted in red
Every night he visited
And wished to be dead
The kids at school
Loved to play
They played games
Each and every day
The games they played
Had no ball
Just the boy
He was their doll
They sang a song
They sang a lie
And well did they know
It made him cry
Rushed to the river
He heard the water
But there on the bridge
Stood someone's daughter
"Are you okay?" he asked
She had the most beautiful eyes
"I'm fine" she sniffled
He saw through her lies
From then on
In a tire swing under the stars
They would share many stories
Of each of their scars
In that tree
They carved a heart
And made a promise
To never part
"Be my Prince Charming"
"Together, we can be free"
"Please," She begged him
"Come with me."
A week later
They were found
Tied high in that beloved tree
With the same rope, they were bound
But the girl was saved
The boy left her behind
From that day on
Her eyes no longer shined
