Time

I hope you’re happy, And you probably are. You told me lies, You separated my friends, You tricked my parents. And all the while, You claimed you were “helping”. At first I truly believed, That I needed you so I could be, Whatever I wanted. But I grew older and smarter, Which you were trying to prevent. And despite your security measures, I found out the truth. I learned behind your trickery, From a wise book. Yes, a book. You scrambled to cover your tracks, And you covered them so well, That people believed you. But I know the truth now, You put me under your spell, And I fell for it. But nothing is quite worse, Then the years gone by. That is what kills me the most. Not the lies, Or the endless thoughts. Those I can take back. But time, I cannot. The time you stole is gone forever, And with it, a piece of me died. It’s never coming back, No matter how I try. There’s nothing left for me here, Except to try to move on. But how is that even possible, When everyone else embraces your lies? People think I’m crazy, Because I go against your norms. But they don’t know your real intentions, You hide behind you’re lies. I hope your happy, And you probably are.
