Time

Time, the furthest I will be from you

Lets disregard the border lines, the steep inclines,

of mountains stretched between you and I.

Time, it flashed by like rays of light,

the second we clapped eyes, it jolts, it flies.

A cruel twist of fate, I guess thats life,

you utter under bright blues skies,

and deep into humid nights,

we lay awake, fingers fumbling, heavy hearts mumbling,

about the day I leave this southern hemisphere affair.

Time, it slows, as the moon glows over a hunk of metal,

flying me from where I found you.

Time, it slowed, rolled out, a vast expanse, unsettlingly silent yet screaming.

So I would spend my awake hours dreaming,

that the ticking tock of the clock would quicken,

but it isn’t.

Time it's slow, and my hair grows, past the shoulder bones you once kissed,

I wonder if you miss, those suncream lips on a beach filled with smiles.

These miles, they begin to scare my jigsaw heart.

Time, its a cruel reality, and until we come to be,

lying underneath the same fragment of never-ending sky,

I’ll wait, anticipate, the momentum gathering of those turning hands.

Time.
