In time

It started from the beginning of time,

When words would go on and on.

On and on about the value of making a dime.

First it was do what you wish

But they eventually faded into what will make you rich,

For all they ever wanted was so you would never have to wash another dish.

Just be successful, they said.

Just be happy, they said

But who would’ve thought the difficulties of staying fed.

Selling out to make the bill,

And working double to make ends meet,

But please, always try to remember the dream, if you will.

You’ve worked day and night,

Your goal is in sight,

And once it's achieved you’ll feel in flight.

Never lose hope,

Never give up, and

Never forget what's in sight

Try and keep trying

Work and keep working

For success comes in time

And in time will come success.
