Time

I feel it falling out of my hands

like sand slipping through my fingers.

I try to hold onto it, but it doesn't want to stay.

Oh, the treasures that I would give so that you do not go away

the souls I would render to you.

Why must you leave now?

Why must you pull away?

An answer is eternally wanted, but never found.

But at least take the memories;

the reflections of what once was

so beautiful but now only lives to haunt.
