Time
Time got caught in the back of your throat. You're paralyzed by the crippling fear of time losing itself inside you. Time has ways of escaping you in intervals of ragged, uneven coughs. You'll cough up blood wishing you had more time. People change the way they look at you without telling and you're left with the agonizing pain of being considered a leftover. You feel like a flameless fire and everyone is coming over to watch the shredding of your body. It feels like hours but it takes seconds to break down every single thing that has gone wrong from that day to now. You still feel time in the way people laugh and the way people become shredded memories that cut deep. The way that one certain thing can mean so much in a short period of time. Time has escaping you feels like walking on glass and every single step is a plunge into darkness.
