Time

Time stops

As you wait for it to pass

Don’t hold your breath

How long will it last?

A tear slips down

Don’t let it find you

It’s closer to you now

In darkness it binds you.

You must stand strong

While inside you break

Can’t be their pillar

They’ll know you’re a fake.

It passes, you sigh,

A breath of fresh air

The chains have broken

Intruders beware.

For better or worse,

But is it worse better?

Learn to move on

And find those who care

Choose a new path

Your future waits there.

Pick up the pieces

All blown in the wind

No longer must you hide

Your new life begins.

The ruts in the path

The rocks and the snakes

Shall not stop you

In the Quest that you take.

And when it comes

You’ll know what to do

Don’t hide from the blackness

Emerge from it new.

Find the pennies

And the four leafed clovers

Take with you the good

The past is all over.
