Time

The clock-

moving forward with

the world-

The Gears rotating with a simple click

'Tock-

Tock-'

The hand flicks-

Bit-by-Bit-

Inch-by-Inch-

Closer and Closer;

'Tick- Tock-

Tick- Tock-'

A Fly buzzes by

its Wings-

Scratching and Beating-

Adding to the Torturous rhythm-

'Buzzz- Tick- Buzzz- Tock-

Buzzz- Tick- Buzzz- Tock-'

I can feel the perspiration-

Gathering around my slopped brow-

Basting it-

Dreadful Anticipation

'Drip- Buzzz- Tick- Buzzz- Tock-

Drip- Buzzz- Tick- Buzzz- Tock-'

A pencil in my Hand-

Impatiently Smacking-

The Wooden desk is Hit:

Annoying Inept Habit-

'Smack- Drip- Buzzz- Smack- Tick- Buzzz- Smack- Tock-

Smack- Drip- Buzzz- Smack- Tick- Buzzz- Smack- Tock-'

'Smack- Drip- Buzzz- Smack- Tick- Buzzz- Smack- Tock-

Smack- Drip- Buzzz- Smack- Tick- Buzzz- Smack- Tock-'

'Smack- Drip- Buzzz- Smack- Tick- Buzzz- Smack- Tock-

Smack- Drip- Buzzz- Smack- Tick- Buzzz- Smack- Tock-'

'RRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGG!'

Feet Shuffle-

Chairs Squeak-

Moments pass-

And I am Flying-

Sprinting-

Rushing-

Jogging-

Racing-

Down and Out towards my goal-

The Parking Lot-

My Car-

I can't be late for work today!

I'm Almost there-

Just a few more steps-

Just get out my Keys-

Almost-

"Wait!" My friend calls out to me-

Feet are Skating-

Legs are Tumbling-

My Face almost Greets the Ground-

I stop in my tracks-

Head bent absurdly to face them-

Time is moving too Quickly for me now

I'll most certainly be late-

If they just hurry up and-

"You left all of your stuff!"

I internally groan-

My Body deflates-

and my Heart sinks far past the ground:

Time was not my friend today.
