In Time

Dear time,

Id wish you stopped and stared for a while,

I wish you would stay for maybe more than an hour, more than a day more than a year.

Like ice, I wish you could freeze moments to last longer. I resent you for all the times you have cut me short.

For the days that felt like a matter of seconds. All those restless nights. All the words I shouted to the moon and the stars. Gosh how I wish you heard me, then you would stop.

My time is limited, I don’t know how much I’ll have. I want every precious second to dissolve in my mouth, so I can still savior the moments I spend alive.

I have lost time it went by slipping through my bare hands like water. Wish I could hold you, but you slip away from me.

Please stop taunting me, you are hurting me. All the concerns about the future left to unfold. Please instead comfort me so I know I am not alone.

Oh, precious time, I know you have much to offer, times for crying, and times for laughing.

And I guess its true “nothing gold can stay” but is it too much to ask from you, to stay a little longer.
