Time

Dear Grandma,

I know you are gone, but sometimes it still feels like you are here. I still wake up on saturdays and get ready to head over to your house for breakfast but then I remember the truth, and slowly take off my coat and hang it back up. And then I just sit at the counter and think for a little while. Well, the last time I started thinking, I wrote this for you. Its a poem that kind of describes what I have been feeling lately, and for the first time since you left I think I can finally describe whats been going on inside my head. So here goes,

When asked what a person wants most,

Most people say money,

Others say happiness.

Generic answers,

That are expected from everyone.

But there are always a few,

A select group of people,

Who take that wuestion to heart.

They spend their entire lifem

Searching and Searching,

And it isn't until those final moments.

Those precious final moments,

That they find the answer.

It is truly the thing that everybody wants,

However none realize it,

Until those precious final moments.

Time.

The one gift that no one can give.

No matter how much we wish,

The rich, the poor, the sad, the succesful,

All longing for just a little more.

But no matter how much we hope,

All good thigs must come to an end.

So in reality I must ask.

Why do we wish for time?

When we know it is the one wish,

That will never be answered.

I wish we had more time grandma, even though I know that its an impossibel thing to wish for. I will love you always and forever.

With love always,
