Time

Each decade is a second; Eternity a day. Your life ends as Time Snatches each moment away. Time is the silent wraith Hovering over your shoulder, Hiding in your shadow, Waiting as you grow older. “It will not be long” he whispers. His laughter fills your head With the constant ticking Silenced only when you lay dead. From the cradle to the grave, He rushes you through life; And when you finally stop to rest, Snuffs out your little light.
