Time and the Rite of Passage
[Listen to the attached .ogg file while reading! :)]
The Time has come
once again
when the
seasons change,
To inquire the
leaden burdens
that Time
shall maintain:
"What comes of days
that come and pass?
If tomorrow ends
will it be the last?
What shall come of
older days
of weary,
fading,
gray?"
Age would seem to
be a boat;
Time an
endless sea;
Life the fare that
we all pay to
venture
finitely,
"So what of tides
that rise and die?
What comes of fares
that do not suffice?
Is age the boat
or distance
traveled on
Time's
sea?"
Time seems to hold
many secrets...
... Or rather
many truths.
Time is a rite
of passage...
... that we have
no right to.
Easily removed,
yet never freed,
from Time's grasp:
you and me.
Never waste a
day of Time
- a lesson
learned as
so.
"Remember:
older days that
were very
simple;
their magic
never fades.
Gather:
all the truths that
Time shall conceal;
they shall
lead the way.
Obtain:
from failing hands
a burning torch
that lights the way;
you must bear its Flame.
Right the wrongs that
threaten Good
and promise
me this
so."
I am still learning...
... I was tought by you.
I promised to do right...
... Now I write a truth:
If I right a
wrong, I save today;
if I teach you how,
tomorrow is saved.
Tomorrow ends
in just one way:
we fail to
act
today.
"Very well. So
this is your plan?"
Yes. This way, I
will make things right.
