Time Capsule: the last 5 years

I haven't seen these words in the last five years.

They remain untouched by all my recent fears.

I talked of love that I did not know,

yet all the same advice that I ask myself now to grow.

For now I know loss in addition to love.

my best friend, my rock, my reason to run.

I have been played by the one I trusted most

so I turn to my online diary, my last standing post.

I broke open my time capsule to see what treasures I'd find,

to ponder and place new thoughts in its hide.

So to future me, when we meet again...

you'll be okay, even without this friend.
